First Post!

Hello everyone!
I’d like to welcome you to the launch of my new blog. It’s been a long time coming, I know.

For the past few years I’ve considered myself a social media person. I’m very active on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, so I figured I didn’t need a personal website or blog. And Tumblr is kind of a blog anyway, right? The problem with those types of sites is you can’t control how your messages, ideas, and work is shared with others. You’re just at the mercy of how the developers of that particular site choose to have it operate. This is especially true of Facebook, which has a truly frustrating model that involves throttling fan discovery of new posts unless you give them money. Another problem with building a brand solely on social media is your competing with thousands of other creators for the same audience and space. Of course these are some of the most visited websites in the world, so you want your stuff to be shared there, but in terms of a hub on the internet for everything I’m involved in, typical social media sites are not idea.

So I’ve decided I needed a home base.

That’s where this blog comes in. From now on the1janitor.com will serve as a central location for all things related to the1janitor. You’ll find updates on all my videos, from all my channels (Did you know I had three YouTube channels? I’m betting some of you didn’t, which is a part of the reason why having a home base is good), my social media, my podcast, and any other projects I might be working on. I also plan to, you know, actually write blogs every now and then. Also some of you may note that “the1janitor.com” used to point to my tumblr blog. It now points to this blog instead.

Along with the launch of my website, I am launching the official the1janitor Newsletter. This will also help me keep you guys updated about what I’ve made and what I’m up to, so you don’t have to scour the internet for all my platforms and see what’s new. And I know, I should have done a lot of these things a long time ago, but better late than never. Also now that I have a legit blog, those of you advanced users that like to subscribe to RSS feeds can now do that as well.

I’m hoping for everything to be beneficial for both me and my audience, so don’t hesitate to send me any suggestions or questions you have! I have some big ideas for the future, so keep an eye out (and sign up for the Newsletter!)

Thanks for visiting my blog! There should be a couple posts for you to check out very soon!
